Ah, the Chicago Green Festival – 150 speakers, 350 local and national green businesses, and all the organic açaí juice you can drink! The Green Festival returns to Chicago’s navy pier for its third year on May 16-17, and it promises to be a great time. Over 30,000 people attended last year’s festivities, and all those people can’t be wrong!

Their exhibitor list is a veritable who’s who of green businesses in all possible sizes, industries, and specialties.  Interested in green building? Visit with U.S. Way Builders! Always secretly wanted to learn about permaculture? Listen to the founder  of Midwest Permaculture (the company, not the concept) speak at noon on Sunday! Want organic clothes that don’t make you look like a hobbit? Shop with Small Axe Clothing, because their stuff is retro cute and I like the name!

I went to the San Francisco Green Festival last year and had such a swell time I thought I’d volunteer this year. Registration is open for volunteers now, so swoop in and register to nab the good volunteer shifts. Added bonus: all volunteers get free passes to attend both days.
